National Farm Worker Ministry (NFWM)

NFWM is an interfaith organization that supports farm workers as they organize for empowerment, justice, and equality. NFWM brings together national denominations, state councils of churches, religious orders and congregations, and concerned individuals to act with the farm workers to achieve fundamental change in their living and working conditions. National Mobilization Against Sweatshops (NMASS)

NMASS is a membership association of working people. They are injured workers fighting for their right to compensation and medical benefits; mothers demanding recognition for the work we do raising kids; office workers and garment workers rejecting brutally long working hours; restaurant and hotel workers standing up to tip-stealing and unfair firings; students and other workers from many other walks of life. Many of them are from the Chinese, Polish, African-Caribbean, and Latin American communities. They are fighting for liberation: the right to health, to control over their time and their lives, and to pursue their dreams - the right to live fully as human beings.



National Workshop on Christian Unity

In 1963, a group of Roman Catholics, in the context of Vatican II, saw a need to equip local leadership for the task of ecumenical ministry. In 1969, they invited leaders of other Christian communions to join, and today the national ecumenical officers of the churches continue their oversight of the workshop, which is planned by national and local committees. There are both denominational and ecumenical sessions during the workshop, which seek to further the spirit of ecumenism.

The World Council of Churches (WCC)
