New Orleans is on an entirely different level when it comes to a true community. They had to experience one of Mother Nature’s most threatening forces but their spirit, their music, and strengths never died. The citizens of New Orleans are open to sharing their experiences and their wishes and hopes, and the visitors were no more than escatic in embracing the New Orleans flamboyant culture.
No doubt about it, there is still a lot of destruction and work that needs to be taken care of. But even our trip, that few days that we were there, helped more than I could have imagined. For those who couldn’t make it on the service trips, they still helped by merely listening to the words of the Katrina victims. All it takes to be impacted by these upbeat God-loving people is one song, one speech, one person, one voice, one action.
